DEFINITION ANDROID 
An operating system for smartphones and other devices, developed by Android, Inc. and later purchased by Google. The Android platform is based on the Linux operating system, and features numerous apps developed by Google and by third-party developers. Phones running the Android operating system are the primary competitor to Apple's iPhone, and are the best selling smartphones worldwide.

DEFINITION IOS
iOS is a mobile operating system developed by Apple. It was originally named the iPhone OS, but was renamed to the iOS in June, 2009. The iOS currently runs on the iPhone, iPodtouch, and iPad.
